| Laurel and Hardy visited Tynemouth twice. On 28 July 1932
they stayed just one night at the Grand Hotel, in Percy Gardens.
In the afternoon Stan and Ollie attended a Civic Reception on the terrace at the back of Tynemouth Plaza, overlooking the beach (see above), where they later presented prizes to around six hundred local orphans.
