Laurel and Hardy came to Leeds on  three of their four British visits. In 1932 they stayed just one night, 3 August, at the Queen's Hotel.
In the evening they made an appearance at the Majestic Picture Theatre, just out of sight, to the left, in the above picture.
For some unknown reason, Stan and Ollie didn't come to Leeds in 1947, but did make it in 1952, w/c 7 April. It was two years almost to the day
when Laurel & Hardy made their last appearance - w/c 5 April 1954, when they again played the Empire, and stayed at the Queen's Hotel.
