THEATRE ROYAL
The whole street may seem dilapidated but, in 1997,
the interior of the theatre was extensively refurbished.
In 2008 there are plans to operate it as a "Jumpin Jaks" venue.

(2009 - working hotel).

Laurel and Hardy appeared at the Theatre Royal, Hanley w/c 31 March 1952. Although both were suffering from poor
health, they turned out good performances, and even managed a few tipples in the Mechanics' Inn, behind the theatre.
