Our comedy heroes - Laurel and Hardy - came to Dublin twice. In 1952 they played TWO weeks at the Olympia Theatre -
commencing 27 May, and stayed at the Gresham Hotel - both in O'Connell Street.

In 1953 Stan and Babe's stay at the Royal Marine Hotel, in Dun Laoghaire was considerably longer, but their time spent at
the Olympia was considerably shorter. Thirty three nights at the hotel, between 9 September and 13 October, was rounded
off by just a one-night Charity Performance at the theatre on the 11 October. Just why, is fully covered in the book.
