HER MAJESTY'S THEATRE |
COUNTY HOTEL |

One would think
that Stan Laurel would have insisted that he and Oliver Hardy play Carlisle
on all their stage tours, so he could visit his hometown of Ulverston. But Laurel and Hardy played it just once, w/c 19 April 1954, at Her Majestys Theatre, in Lowther Street, and stayed at the County Hotel, Station Square. When not at the theatre, Stan and Babe spent all their time in the hotel as, by this time, they were pretty well on their last legs, and just wanting the tour to end. |
